After 5 nights and 3 different houses, we were amazed at how well Avery and Ryan were doing with all of the travelling. They did end up staying on Denver time and usually went to bed around 10 and up around 8. It worked out really well for all of us!! Wednesday morning, we enjoyed a cup of coffee with Jill and David before Avery and Ryan got up. Then, we packed up and went to Einstein's to meet my next door neighbor/friend from Quincy, Il and her family. It had been at least 22 years since we had seen each other and crazy that she now lives in Cary! After breakfast, we had our longest drive ahead of us. We drove straight to Richmond and amazingly, the kids slept the entire way. We went to the Edlavitch's house as they were sweet enough to have us for lunch. We got to see Jenny and Steve and meet Sadie who is now 4. We didn't get to see Ben as he was still in school. Sadie did a great job of sharing her toys and showing Avery and Ryan her new playset. After lunch, we made our way to DC and stopped by Rebecah's house in Great Falls for a visit. Since we last saw her, she had a baby boy who is now 1. Anna Grace and Lily are great big sisters! Avery and Ryan had a great time running around with the kids in their backyard and eating chips and salsa! It was great to catch up with Rebecah! We then headed on to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Bethesda. One thing we don't miss about DC is the traffic - it is crazy!
