Little Monkey Business

Last weekend, Andy was in Boston for the weekend for his annual guy's trip. So, I had Avery and Ryan to myself. We had a fun weekend and they missed their daddy as did I! But, glad he was able to get away to hang out with the guys.

Ryan started taking his first steps a few weeks ago and progresses every day, but his preferred method is still crawling. They both love to climb on things, so figured they were ready for some Little Monkey Bizness. We met up with the Carlson's on Saturday morning. Avery and Ryan had a blast climbing, sliding, running, crawling, bouncing, etc. It was great to see the Carlson's as well, but didn't get any picutres of the boys. The last time we were at the LMB was for Jack's 2nd birthday and he is turning 3 in 2 months! Hard to beleive. Ben is about 6 weeks older than Avery and Ryan, but amazing the size difference!

Children's Museum

We met up with the Meyer's at the Children's Musuem. We haven't seen them for some time so it was great to see everyone and have the kids run around. We have never been to the Children's Musuem and wasn't sure what to expect. Annabelle and GG did a great job of showing Avery and Ryan around. They have a great area for toddlers and Avery and Ryan loved playing in the garden, the boat, and climbing up and down the hill. We also ventured upstairs where they had a mini Whole Foods and they loved pushing the grocery cart and picking out groceries. I'm sure we will be back again soon. Also, thanks to Kelly for letting me steal some of her pictures from the outing!

Visit to the Park

After naps, we headed to the park for some swinging and playing. Avery and Ryan love the swings! Grandma enjoyed seeing them in action. It was so special to have Andy's mom out for Mother's day, but think his dad was a little jealous. They are looking to come out for a week in August and we would spend a few days up in the mountains and hang out in Denver the rest of the time.

Mother's Day "Brunch"

I had a wonderful mother's day. Andy made reservations for brunch at White Chocolate Grill as we had a great brunch their last summer. We sat down and started looking over the menu and their were no brunch items on the menu. I guess they decided to stop serving brunch. I was a little disappointed, but we all had great salads. Avery and Ryan devoured their grilled cheese and avocado. We decided to splurge and ordered the white chocolate brownie and it did not disappoint. I gave Avery and Ryan some ice cream and Avery couldn't get enough and kept pointing to get more. I think she may have a sweet tooth like her mommy. We had fun taking pictures outside after lunch.

Andy ordered me a book of the blog from the time I started the blog through the kid's first birthday. It is hardbound and is a great treasure of the pregnancy and our first year with Avery and Ryan. Andy's mom also picked out a beautiful hanging plant for the front porch - which was much needed.

Baughman Birthdays

Saturday afternoon, we headed over to the Grant Ranch clubhouse to celebrate the Baughman Girls birthdays - Maggie 5, Audrey 3, and Gillian 1. It was fun to see everyone. Michelle did a great job entertaining the kids with lots of activies and prizes. And, Avery and Ryan got cute plates and personalized place mats.

Saturday night, we got a sitter and went out for an adult dinner. We decided to check out a new restaurant called "Restaurant Home" at the Streets of SouthGleen. Their menu has modern and comfort foods. It was all very good.

15 month check up

Saturday morning we headed to the Dr's office for Avery and Ryan's 15 month well visits. Avery and Ryan are the same height and Avery only has a pound on Ryan now. They are both developing well. Ryan still prefers crawling to walking, so we need to get him on 2 feet. He is definitely one fast crawler - if only there were baby crawling races!

Friday at the Zoo

Andy's mom was able to fly out to Colorado to spend Mother's Day weekend with us and more importanly her grandchildren! She arrived on Thursday night. Andy and I both had to go to work on Friday morning but were able to leave early. I picked up Barbara and the kids and we met Andy at the zoo. We ended up with a perfect afternoon of weather and it was not busy at all. We think they both enjoyed checking out the animals and strolling through the zoo, though Ryan was super animated when we went into the gorilla house (see picture below)! In fact, we had to drag him kicking and screaming from there.

Pool Time

Swim lessons went well and both Avery and Ryan enjoyed their time in the pool. Now we need to figure out what to do next as there really doesn't seem like any options at the Rec Center until they are older.
