Snowed In!

It has been snowing since Tuesday night and just hasn't stopped. We now have around 2 feet of snow. Andy and I worked from home today and yesterday. Sarah was able to make it over yesterday to watch the kids while we worked, which was a huge help. But, today, she was snowed in like the rest of us. Andy and I were able to take turns with Avery and Ryan so we could still be as productive as possible since our offices didn't close today. We did bundle up Avery and Ryan and get them in the snow for a little bit. They didn't seem to mind too much. Before you know it, they will be taking ski/board lessons!!

Avery did cut her first tooth like a champ this morning! It is bottom right one and looks like the bottom left one will be any day now. Ryan has had his bottom 2 teeth for two months now and looks like a top one will be coming through anytime now!

Last weekend, I made my almost monthly trip to I.Qlinary to make some frozen meals. We love this concept, especially with having two little ones. I had bought some minestrone last weekend and pulled it out this morning as it sounded like a perfect meal for this weather. It was delicious - the only thing missing was some fresh bread! It was definitely much cheaper to buy this way then to attempt to make it myself, which just wouldn't happen!

With all this snow, it is hard to believe Halloween is only 2 days away and it is supposed to be in the 50s!

Swing Time

Saturday started out nice, but by the afternoon the cold front was definitely moving in. We decided to bundle up the kids (the hats are the ones Andy got in Germany) and head over to the park to check out the kid's playground and walk around the lake. Avery and Ryan hadn't been in a swing yet, so we started out by sticking them in one together. Ryan didn't seem to mind, but Avery didn't seem thrilled. So, we put them each in their own swing and Ryan was having a blast and kicking his legs in his usual fashion. Avery just hung out in the swing not sure exactly what she was supposed to do.

We also captured a video of them fighting over their octopus. It is too funny - http://silvermans.shutterfly.com/1288

Pumpkin Patch

The weather was a complete 180 from last weekend with lots of sun and warm weather! We met up with the Carlson's at the Pumpkin Festival at Chatfield Botanical Gardens on Saturday morning. It was quite busy with lots of families! We decided to break out the BOB stroller since we would be in a field and it worked out well! We took some pictures in the pumpkin patch and Andy picked out some small pumpkins. We grabbed some lunch and walked around a bit before heading back to the car. Avery and Ryan feel asleep on the way back to the car so we decided to get them in the car and go for a drive in the area. We headed down to Waterton Canyon/Roxborough Park area and stumbled upon the Arrowhead golf course. It is in a great setting with lots of red rock formations. We haven't played yet, but hope to soon! Sat. night, Andy had his neighborhood poker game and came in 2nd. Last time, he came in 1st! While he was at poker, I got to enjoy catching up on my shows on the DVR!

Beep Beep - Backing it up

Avery has started moving backward, a little forwards, and doing 360s. Ryan prefers to stay in place and move his arms and legs at a fast pace - once he figures out how to lift his belly off the floor he is going to be one speedy crawler. They both love spending time in the exersaucer and jumperoo, so they take turns in each. They both have the cutest laughs and once they get going, they don't want to stop. They still fight over toys and want what the other has and the toy will just go back and forth between the two until one moves on to something else. It is quite humorous! They also enjoy standing at their learning table and at the coffee table, that is until they fall over!
We had a chilly weekend with snow, so spent the weekend indoors! Andy did go to the Rockies/Phillies playoff game on Sunday night with some friends. It was supposed to be Sat. night but due to the low temps, they postponed it to Sunday night. The game didn't start until 8pm and wasn't over until midnight and it still got down in to the 30s. Unfortunately, they lost!

Baby Luehrs #2

Greg and Shyloe are expecting baby #2 and found out yesterday that it is a girl. We are so excited!! The due date is March 7th (3 days after Shyloe's birthday and 2 days after our dad's birthday). Taiten is 10 months older than Avery and Ryan and Baby Luehrs #2 will be 13 months younger! We are looking forward to Thanksgiving at Kiawah Island with my family in just 6 weeeks. Can't wait to see Taiten, as I'm sure he has changed so much since we saw him in May!

Single Mommy

We arrived in Denver at 1:30pm on Tuesday and Andy had a flight out at 6pm to Munich that night via Frankfurt. So, we all went to the car and Andy switched bags. He went to Munich for a symposium for work and came back Sunday night. It was quite busy in the mornings and evenings before and after work on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with only one set of hands. Friday night, I was able to get a sitter so I could go to neighborhood bunco. Saturday, we met my friend, Kristen, for lunch. The kids did great in the highchairs and we were able to catch up. Saturday night, we had a potluck block party right in front of our house. I made a dessert and just wheeled the kids out in the stroller. It was great fall weather during the day, but turned pretty chilly later in the day. I put some little fleece jackets on them that were too big for them in the Spring. We got some cute pictures of the kids with the pumpkins that the neighbors grew in their garden. The big one was 70 pounds!! I had to head in around 6 to get the kids their dinner, bottles, and ready for bed. Once I got them down, I looked outside and the party was still going on and a fire pit had been added. I decided to head back out and just took my video monitor with me. It worked out great! Sunday, Kelly and Annabelle stopped by to visit. They brought lunch and a box of clothes that Annabelle and GG have outgrown. Avery is going to have some cute fall/winter outfits! Before heading to the airport to pick up Andy, we went to Aspen Grove to shop for some winter coats and found what we needed, so we are all set for the cold weather. I have a feeling it is going to be a bad winter! Andy was glad to see us when we picked him up. He got cute toboggans for Avery and Ryan in Germany - so they will be sporting those with their new coats!
