Avery and Ryan playing so well together on a weekend morning.  They get along 95% of the time and enjoy playing vacation, airport, and birthday party.

To the Arctic 3D

We have been wanting to see the Polar Bear movie at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, so decided it was a good day to go.  We checked out the animal exhibits before the movie started. Ryan looked the part of the museum goer as he loves holding the map.  The 3D movies are really amazing and I think Avery was a little scared, but overall we all enjoyed it.  Afterwards, we ventured through the Prehistoric Journey exhibit for the first time.  Since they have been talking about dinosaurs at school, they had fun looking at everything.  We then decided to have lunch at larkburger, our first visit.  It was quite good!

Busy Day

Avery and Ryan's school was closed for teacher training and I took the day off. We started out with a visit to my office to see where I work and say hi to my colleagues. Then, we headed downtown to Andy's office. They have strict security in his new building and Avery and Ryan even had to get badges with their pictures. After a quick visit, we headed to Woody Creek for lunch. Then, it was time to go to the Children's Museum. We haven't been in a few months and wanted to check out the new exhibits - 3-2-1 Blast Off and Just Add Water.  They loved both the new exhibits and had fun in the regular ones as well.  We made a quick pit stop at home and then went to the park and then to Cool Cuts for much needed hair cuts.  It was a packed day and I was exhausted by then end!

White Fence Farm

I have heard from a few colleagues about White Fence Farm and have been looking forward to going. We met the Carlson's there for Sunday lunch. Before lunch we walked around the grounds and the kids played on the playground.   We then headed inside to get a table.  It really felt like we were far, far away from Colorado.  The adults all went for the fried chicken - it was pretty good! Avery and Ryan enjoyed their fish sticks and fries.  Afterwards, we checked out the barnyard and got to see cows, a hog, goats, sheep and chickens.  Avery even fed the cow.

Beer Pong & Flip Cup

We celebrated Matt's 40th birthday in style with beer pong and flip cup! It all brought us back to our younger years before kids!  Eight years ago many of us did these same games in celebration of July 4th!  And, the next day we hiked a 14er. Not sure that could have been feasible this  time!   Flip cup involves even teams where you drink a small amount of beer and then have to flip the cup so it lands upside down. It is a relay race and the team that finishes first wins.  I somehow was on all the winning teams - it was a fun night and the weather was absolutely perfect!

Summer Fun

The summer is going by too quickly. We have enjoyed lots of yogurt, time at different neighborhood jungle gyms, t-ball, soccer and riding bicycles. Will be sad when we can't get out after dinner!
