Our day started very early as we left the house around 5:45 to catch our flight. On our way there, we dropped off Raleigh at Mile High Mutts. Then, parked at Wally Park, our first time there. The security line was very long and all the way past where the ropes start. Ryan had his first tantrum in the line and then again at security. Avery decided to run back through the metal detector after we had already passed through and had to run and grab her. We were cutting it close to make our flight and basically arrived at the gate just in time. Then, we ended up sitting at the gate for over an hour as they had to change a tire. Finally, we were off to Charlotte. Once we got to Charlotte, Ryan had another tantrum in the middle of food court as he wanted to get on the plane right then and didn't understand the concept of a layover. We had time to grab lunch and when I went to go pick up a sandwich he had another tantrum with Andy. It definitely wasn't his day! Our flight to Hilton Head was on small propeller jet that held about 30 passengers. Our kids were worn out and slept most of the way. We landed in Hilton Head a little over an hour later to the smallest commercial airport I have ever been to! We grabbed our luggage and rental car and were off to the Westin to meet Andy's parents. We quickly headed to the beach to check it out and Avery and Ryan were so excited to be able to run around and get their feet wet in the ocean. We had a casual dinner at the hotel and then it was time for bed. This was Avery and Ryan's first stay in a hotel room where they slept in a bed. They were so cute and did a great job of sharing the bed!
