The Elephant and the Princess

This year, we decided to ask the kids what they wanted to be for Halloween. Avery exclaimed she wanted to be a princess and Ryan said he wanted to be a tiger, lion, or elephant. Luckily I found a princess costume and a elephant costume in their sizes! They tried on the costumes the next day and they were both happy! Can't wait until their Halloween Party and Trick or Treating!

Block Party

Sunday afternoon, we had our annual block party. The weather was great and everyone was able to make it (19 adults and 10 kids 8 and under). We had a potluck with lots of great food. Avery and Ryan showed off their new soccer skills, rode their tricycles, and had fun following the older kids around. The kids played hard and we weren't sure we were going to be able to get them inside to go to bed, luckily it wasn't too difficult as I think they were ready after a busy weekend. Next year, we need to try to plan for a Saturday night!

Sunday Drive

Sunday afternoon, we took a drive in the mountains (Idaho Springs to Evergreen) to see the fall colors as we figured if we waited much longer, it might be too late. It was sunny and warm in Denver, but when we got in the mountains, it was much cooler and rainy! The scenery was still worth it though! Avery and Ryan napped for the 1sh half, but were awake to enjoy the second half. Glad we did it and look forward to exploring another part of the state next fall!

Gymastics Party

The kids had a nap in the car on our way home from the circus, which was a good thing since we had a birthday party at 3pm. This was our first party for one of Avery and Ryan's classmates. It was at the Goodsen Rec center in the gymnastics center. They actually had the cake part first, which worked out well so the kids could run around afterwards to burn off the sugar. Avery and Ryan had fun seeing some kids from their class and it was nice for us to meet some of the parents.

Circus

We got tickets to the Ringling Brothers circus this year and the Carlson family joined us. We had seats pretty much in the middle in the 5th row. Ryan especially loves animals so we knew he would really like it. We all had a great time and enjoyed the smoothies, pretzel, and popcorn along with the show that was very entertaining. We asked Ryan after the circus what animals he saw and his eyes just lit up while he named all the animals!

Pajama Breakfast

Sunday morning, we had plans to meet the Addis family at Second Home for pajama brunch in Cherry Creek. Unfortunatley, Brendan and Beckett weren't able to join as Beckett was recovering from an ear infection. But, glad Dana and Stella were able to make it. The kids get to go to breakfast in their pajamas (and breakfast for the kids is free) and there is a room off to the side where the kids can hang out and do crafts, eat breakfast, and watch a movie while the adults enjoy their breakfast. Avery and Ryan did great and good to have Stella there with them.





After breakfast, we headed to Costco to do some shopping. The kids enjoyed some free samples.

Rosh Hashanah Play Date

Saturday morning, we headed to a Rosh Hashanah play date at the Krumholz house. Ana did a great job of organizing a craft project for the kids. They used apples cut in half to stamp the paper with paint of their choice. Once the paint dried, the paper was glued to a paper horn. So cute! We enjoyed seeing a few people we knew but also meeting several new couples.
