June Catch Up

June seemed to go by really fast. Avery and Ryan are at the stage where they are learning so much every day and just continue to amaze us. Here are some pictures from June.

Maui

Before I went out on maternity leave, I was awarded the Leadership Team award at my company, which is quite an honor. As recognition, I was invited to attend the Executive Conference in Maui. The CEO allowed me to postpone a year since I was getting ready to have Avery and Ryan. So, Andy and I were able to go this year and Nan stayed with Avery and Ryan during her regular days and we were able to have Sarah stay with them overnight and on the weekend. We were a little nervous to go so far away, but it was easier knowing they were in good hands! We left on Memorial Day and got in to Maui around 7pm as the sun was setting. This was our first visit to Maui and we stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea. Since we were without kids, we planned a lot of activies ahead of time around our scheduled events.

We took a tour to the top of Haleakala Volcano (10,000 ft) and biked down 23 miles with awesome views

It was very windy at the top

Getting geared up. We got some good tips from Vance Hodges, which included stopping at an asian bakery for some yummy donuts and a great lunch at Flatbread in Paia

Next stop, was "turtle town" where we got to snorkel with the sea turtles

Thursday, I had a business meeting to attend for employees only. Once I was done, we headed to Mama's Fish House for lunch. The food was great and the setting was amazing.

After lunch, we spent some time on the Road to Hana. It was quite curvy, but well worth the views. We also stopped at Twin Falls. We had to head back to the hotel for our group dinner. It was fun to see some familiar faces and meet some new colleagues.

Friday, we had teambuilding and we weren't sure what to expect as it included spouses and kids. It ended up being "Survivor" and got to play some fun games. After lunch, we headed to Makena golf course for a round of golf. We had fun playing and finished 18 just in time to head back and get ready for dinner. We had a formal dinner with colleagues and spouses and it was very nice with great food, wine, and conversation.

Saturday, we played golf again as our group activity. This time, we played the Blue Course. After grabbing lunch, we headed back to the hotel to get packed up. Since our flight didn't leave until 10pm, we headed to Lahaina to walk around and have dinner. We enjoyed a nice meal and sunset at Kimo's

We had a wonderful vacation and were ready to get back to Colorado and see Avery and Ryan.

Little Monkey Business

Last weekend, Andy was in Boston for the weekend for his annual guy's trip. So, I had Avery and Ryan to myself. We had a fun weekend and they missed their daddy as did I! But, glad he was able to get away to hang out with the guys.

Ryan started taking his first steps a few weeks ago and progresses every day, but his preferred method is still crawling. They both love to climb on things, so figured they were ready for some Little Monkey Bizness. We met up with the Carlson's on Saturday morning. Avery and Ryan had a blast climbing, sliding, running, crawling, bouncing, etc. It was great to see the Carlson's as well, but didn't get any picutres of the boys. The last time we were at the LMB was for Jack's 2nd birthday and he is turning 3 in 2 months! Hard to beleive. Ben is about 6 weeks older than Avery and Ryan, but amazing the size difference!

Children's Museum

We met up with the Meyer's at the Children's Musuem. We haven't seen them for some time so it was great to see everyone and have the kids run around. We have never been to the Children's Musuem and wasn't sure what to expect. Annabelle and GG did a great job of showing Avery and Ryan around. They have a great area for toddlers and Avery and Ryan loved playing in the garden, the boat, and climbing up and down the hill. We also ventured upstairs where they had a mini Whole Foods and they loved pushing the grocery cart and picking out groceries. I'm sure we will be back again soon. Also, thanks to Kelly for letting me steal some of her pictures from the outing!

Visit to the Park

After naps, we headed to the park for some swinging and playing. Avery and Ryan love the swings! Grandma enjoyed seeing them in action. It was so special to have Andy's mom out for Mother's day, but think his dad was a little jealous. They are looking to come out for a week in August and we would spend a few days up in the mountains and hang out in Denver the rest of the time.
