Olympic Training Center

Since we were already in Colorado Springs for the Spartan Race, we had decided to make a weekend of it and stayed at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.  It felt great to get all the mud off in a nice warm shower!  Afterwards, we headed over to the Olympic Training Center.  I have been a couple of times, but Andy had never been. We made it just in time to get the last tour of the day.  Our tour guide was Jesse Bockham, an olympic bobsledder!  The kids did pretty good on the tour and we learned a lot about the olympic athletes and the training experience.

Spartan Race

Awhile back one of my colleagues convinced several of us to sign up for the Spartan Race.   We signed up, but weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into. On race day, I rode down with some colleagues since we needed to arrive early for our 9:30 heat.  We did some before pictures and it was time to get lined up.  There were six of us and we decided to use the buddy system. My buddy was Darien.  There were 25 or so obstacles over 5 miles and lots of mud.   I did well on the leg strength ones and you definitely needed a buddy in getting over the walls and climbing out of the mud pits.   We finished the race in just over 2 1/2 hours and some of it was just having to wait in line for your turn.  The finish consisted of climbing up a cargo net, rolling over the the net at the top and climbing back down, then jumping over fire and going through the gladiators!  Andy and the kids got stuck in some traffic and made it just after I finished to see me nice and muddy!  They weren't so sure about all the mud!  We hung out for a bit and shared our stories. Glad I did it!!

                                                                       

School Pics

Avery and Ryan had their spring pictures at school.  They turned out okay.  Avery is working too hard on her smile and just has to relax a little bit!   Can't believe how big they are getting!

Wildlife Experience

Sunday afternoon, we met the Rockwoods at the Wildlife Experience.  Avery and Ryan had fun playing with Jordan and Ashleigh!  We ended up spending most of the time in the kids area where they played with the Avalanche game, tried on costumes and did art.  Afterwards, we went out for yogurt!

Busy Day

We had a busy day today!  We started at ballet, then Lifetime for a quick workout, then Avery and Ryan went to class at Great Play (Avery used one of Ryan's make up classes).  They both fell asleep in the car on the way home!  Later in the afternoon, we got Ryan a haircut, then headed over to Keith's 40th birthday celebration at Landsdowne.  We ran into Ms. Hissim, Avery and Ryan's teacher from their previous class.  They were happy to see her as was she to see them!  We hung out for a little bit and then it was time to leave to grab so dinner.  We ended up at Wahoo's and then yogurt! Fun day but everyone was worn out by the time we got home!

CiCi's

Primrose had a fundraising night at CiCi's pizza tonight and since Andy was on his way to Vegas for a bachelor party, decided we might as well check it out.  As soon as we walked in, Avery and Ryan were so excited to spot some friends. It is a buffet and picked out some pizza for us and sat down and they had a hard time focusing on eating!  The kids found the game room and had fun riding the snowmobile with their friends.  We didn't get out of there until after 7:30.  Glad they had a good time. I think they will be wanting to go back!

Rockies

Avery and Ryan got cute Rockies t-shirts for their birthday from our neighbor Christine. They got to wear them to school in celebration of opening day!
