2 month birthday

The babies turned two months old today. Hard to believe. Their pediatrician appointment is on Thursday. We are looking forward to seeing how much they weigh, but not looking forward to their first set of vaccinations.
We did make it out for a walk today even though it was a bit chilly. We just bundled up!

They did get to see their first NCAA championship game and the best part was that Carolina won the game against Michigan State! Go Heels! This is their 3rd championship since I was a freshman.

First Photo Session

A colleague from work does photography on the side and provided a free session for us as a baby shower gift. We decided to do it at 2 months, since Avery and Ryan are now the size of most newborns. We had a hard time getting pictures of just the two of them together as Ryan didn't want to cooperate. Here are a few pictures from our session and the rest of our favorites can be found on our Shutterfly site soon.

March Madness

To get in the spirit for the Sweet Sixteen and the Carolina game, I dressed up Ryan and Avery with their Carolina socks and pacifiers (Thanks Jill!). And, Andy picked up BBQ. We had fun watching the games and especially seeing Carolina advance to the Elite Eight and Duke losing!

1/2 way point

Today is the half way point for my maternity leave. The twins are 6 1/2 weeks and I go back to work when they are 13 weeks. It is going by so fast. I have really enjoyed being home with them and I think the hard part will be just as they are getting more fun is when I head back to work. We have a found a nanny, Sarah, who will watch them at our house, while we are at work. She is friends with a neighbor and also went to Carolina!
Today is also our 3rd anniversary. Andy sent me Orchids and he is planning to pick up dinner at Tony's, a local gourmet market. What a great husband! It is hard to believe it has already been 3 years!

Barbara and Sandy's visit

Barbara and Sandy arrived the Monday following my parents departure for eight days. They were so excited to meet Ryan and Avery after seeing all the pictures. They were a great help with the babies, cooking, and walking Raleigh. Andy and I were even able to get out for a date night, which was nice. I chose sushi since we didn't get to eat it while I was pregnant.
Avery and Ryan are now in newborn size clothes and Avery is definitely outgrowing Ryan. She even has chubby cheeks!

Mom and Dad's visit

We took some family photos before my parents headed back to North Carolina. My mom was a big help with the babies, cooking, and sewing. Dad was assigned several projects around the house and walking Raleigh. We were able to put the finish touches on the nursery, even though it will be a few more months before they are sleeping there. We got my parents a webcam so that we can do web calls with them and they can see the babies grow and the babies can get to know their grandparents, since we won't be able to see them in person as much as we would like!

Four week appt

My mom and dad arrived on 2/21 for two weeks. My mom helped me take Avery and Ryan in for the pediatrician appointment. They both weighed in over 6 pounds, which was very good. We did get a prescription for ointment for Avery's blocked tear duct and a prescription for Ryan's diaper rash. You can see below how the are starting to fill in and they are starting to outgrow their preemie clothes.
